How many people use Twitter? Who knows exactly! All we know is that it is a VERY big number… and growing… In Feb 2010 twitter announced they broke the 50 million tweets per day level!
How many of these people talk about shipping? Not that many… but, it is a growing number… And whilst many have little impact or influence, some have plenty…

In the words of Jeremiah Owyang of Altimeter Group, “If you want to influence me, be in a conversation and dialog with me, in person, online, and wherever I go.”

Our job at Coracle Voice is to try and help you by aggregating those that influence others in the industry.

Our twitter top 40 is refreshed on the 1st of every month to reflect changes over the past month and it is this list of people who are then tracked on the live tweets feed on the right —>

Why are some people in the Top 40 and others not?

We track hundreds of people and consider:
* The number of followers they have,
* The number of unique references to the person in Twitter,
* How often is the person uniquely retweeted,
* How often does the person retweet other people and
* The relative frequency of the persons update
We measure:
* influence,
* popularity,
* engagement and
* trust
all on a ‘per follower’ basis to give a number which we multiply by their impact and this gives the ranking score.
In other words, it isn’t just about volume (ie, lots of followers or lots of tweets) but about how much people respond to what you say…

Do you think that we’re missing someone key, do you simply disagree with our list? Let us know! We’d love to hear from you!
